super duper super bowl recipes
+ a recipe for shoestring onion rings with blue cheese
I often struggle between wishing I was in a more football centric family and grateful I’m not. growing up, tennis was king in our house (laughs in eastern european) the only sport screaming at tv was when Maria Sharapova was playing.
so yeah it wasn’t until college that I even acknowledged the super bowl at all. fast forward one random year my sister and I were living together, and our apartment quickly became the watch party destination (for all 5 people present, us included) $200 in wings, face paint and a couple soggy homemade fried pickles later and I was officially a new woman! let’s go!
but what I lack in years of watching experience, I make up for in finger food passion. this year I was really drawn to onion rings, specifically shoestring. shoestring fries are my favorite style of fry because you don’t just eat one, you eat a pinch at a time, dunked in sauce and it’s great. so why not the same for onion rings you feel me. no accidentally eating the entire ring of onion from the inside the breading here - humiliation ritual. paired with a blue cheese aoiliiiiiiiiiiii yuhhhhh!
recipe at the bottom of this post!
