Even though summer is the season of seltzers, I still love (and usually prefer) a nice cocktail. And when hosting a big gathering, making individual drinks can get a ‘lil hectic. Don’t even get me started on making espresso martinis. But you don’t have to resort to seltzers, just batch your cocktails + everyone can pour their own drinks! Or at least just start with the cocktails and end with whatever ;)
Tip #1: Refrigerate all your liquids before hand, but leave the ice out so the drinks don’t get watered down.
Tip #2: Pre-rim your glasses with salt to have them ready for pouring
Tip #3: Serve the pitcher with a bucket of ice + shaker on the side, so everyone can shake their own drinks and feel fancy af
All these recipes will make about 8 drinks, but I guess that depends on the size of your cups~
Spicy Strawberry Basil Margaritas
I made these for a video I did with Stanley and so loved this Pitcher + these tumblers duo - everything stayed so cold, I even added ice directly to the pitcher. This post isn’t spons. I’m just definitely going to use these all summer!
16 oz strawberries, diced
2 cups tequila
3/4 cup Cointreau
2 big handfuls of basil leaves (about 15ish)
1 cup fresh lime juice (not bottled, side eye)
1/4-1/2 cup liquid honey/agave/simple syrup
1.5-2 jalapenos, sliced thinly
drizzle of olive oil
Muddle strawberries, basil, jalapenos and the drizzle of olive oil in a pitcher and set aside for 15 minutes to ~marinade~ the flavors.
Add the remainder of your ingredients to the pitcher and give everything a stir.
Rim glasses with a lime wedge and dip into tajin. Garnish with a strawberry slice + basil leaf <33 Top up with sparkling water if you’re into that - but leave as is otherwise!
Rosemary Bourbon Iced Tea
This is my boyfriend and I’s faveeee summer cocktail - it’s so easy drinking, citrusy and even though it’s bourbon - very light! He’s allergic to peaches but this would slay so hard with some added peach slices or peach infused black tea. It really tastes best when you brew your own tea BUT the TJ’s black tea concentrate is the only thing that I would say is an equal substitution + the best tea ever.
1.5 cups bourbon (Bulleit is a great option!)
8 cups of waterÂ
7 bags earl grey tea (or any black tea)
3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
15 dashes angostura bitters
3 rosemary sprigs
lemon slices for garnish
Rosemary Syrup (below)
Bring the water to a boil and steep the tea bags for about 4 minutes. Don’t go longer or squeeze the tea bags or the tea will be bitter. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool down.
Once the tea has cooled to room temperature, add the remaining ingredients. Smack your rosemary with the back of your knife and add to the pitcher.
Add some muddled peach slices if you want to make this peach-esque!
Serve in a pitcher with ice + and garnish with a rosemary sprig
Rosemary Syrup:
1.5 cup water
1.5 cup honey
3 rosemary sprigs
In a small saucepan - stir the honey, rosemary and water. Cook over medium heat for 2-4 minutes until all mixed together.
Remove from heat + let cool.
Tequila Spritz’s
I saw Join Jules make this drink with grapefruit juice, and tried it with orange juice instead - instantly obsessed. Love her account for cocktails!
1.5 cups tequila blanco
2 cups aperol
1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
about 3 cups topo chico/sparkling water
orange slices for serving
rosemary sprig for garnish (I just love rosemary in a spritz)
Add all of your ingredients to a pitcher - stiiiir n slay!
Tip: Freeze your orange slice garnishes in a single layer to keep your cocktail cold + cute
