I wasn’t raised in a football centric household. Probably because my parents are soviet immigrants so football actually means soccer in Russian. So this actually means I never “celebrated” (idk, observed?) the Super Bowl until one random year in 2020. My sister and I were living together at the time, probably rotting at home after a night out and our boyfriends/friends came over, ordered $200 of fried food, turned on the game, and that was the night we popped our Super Bowl cherries.
I actually insisted on painting our faces, not only because I was so bored, but because I really wanted to embrace this monumental moment! But safe to say, you can say I don’t have any family recipes for dips (unless ya’ll are trying to get on this russian beet, egg and herring 7 layer type dip train!!) Like, I literally tried buffalo chicken dip for the first time maybe 2 years ago.
But bitch I love a pigs in a blanket (aka now being called a weenie in a beanie) and I also love pickles. So I’m excited to bring you these 2 recipes:
weenies in a beanie with pickle dip
crazy feta meets çilbir dip with homemade pita chips
& some other recipes for your consideration:
mortadella stromboli: feeds a crowd and has gotten RAVE reviews from everyone that has had it
spinach & artichoke spanakopita: also feeds a CROWDDD. twist on a classic and so so good. a huge favorite of my friends
french onion + leek dip: oh it’s goooooooood.
crispy prosciutt pasta salad: honestly I wouldn’t even be mad if you made this in the non- summer time.
large batch cocktail rosemary bourbon iced tea: my boyfriend and I’s favorite bev. so manly! slay! go superbowl!
no bean chili: I mean hello - chili + some hawaiian rolls? you’re set. And no one’s gonna be fartin’ up a storm.
cheesy garlic confit focaccia: this recipe I developed for brightland is so addictive. and you guessed it…perfect for a crowd!!
some good ‘ol deviled eggs: no need to make them pink if that’s not your super bowl vibe
