greatest chili recipe + apartment update (!!)

Guys we are sooooo back (but specifically, me. i’m back.) It’s the way apartment hunting in nyc this year took the greatest toll on my life. But alas after 5 months of browsing, I have found a place to live lol. And it couldn’t be at a better time with the air getting crispier. I literally love being home, even though I love a good plan out. So trying to get my place in the coziest, warmest, rot den I can is a top priority for me rn. That is after I cook up some cozy ass recipes in my new kitchen that is.

Growing up is realizing you just wanna be like Chessy, live on an estate and make chili fr.

Last night I made my first chili and it felt so good. And leftovers are gonna feel extra good later today. After being a cornbread girl my whole life, yesterday I had it with frito scoops and liiiike I think I’ve found my side. Or maybe doing both is actually the move. But make some chili if you’re feeling fally. Here’s my recipe:

And of course Soup Slays will be returning for season 2 this year across all platforms you consume media (aka tiktok + instagram) but not quiiiiite yet. I’ll give it til end of september, so the weirdos clinging on to summer won’t freak on me. If you’re said weirdo, it’s okay we all have our flaws.

Now, for the grand apartment update!! Here’s some peeks at what we have going on for now. I’m on a mad hunt for some counter stools, a bigger dining table + chairs and a coffee nook table for my new baby <33

I finally bit the bullet on a big girl espresso machine and I went with the Lelit Mara X. I’m both so excited and absolutely terrified to use it so stay tuned on that journey lol and send whatever tips you have my way!!!
