hello my protein princesses - I hope you all have been keeping yourselves fed this last week. I’ve seen you guys love love loving the pasta e fagioli from episode 1, and i’m so glad we’re all on this protein struggle bus together. I’m surprisingly having a lot of fun thinking up recipes for this series :’)
now I know I left you unattended for a bit, but I had to tend to a wedding in miami, which ended up leaving me in the world of pura vida. if you’re not familiar, its a chain of fresh ingredient, simple, healthy erewhon ass looking food. erewhon prices included! it was really great though and after a 3 day bender a $22 smoothie and $30 wild tuna bowl just hits different. but safe to say, mama was getting her protein while she was away ;)


and who needs to pay $30 for a chicken bowl when you can make this chicken teriyaki bowl with sesame miso cabbage at home for probably, I think, less! I mean, I know groceries are aggressive these days but thankfully the humble cheap cabbage is here to keep things at bay. great news is you can also highly customize the chicken thighs in this recipe for whatever protein - tofu, salmon, shrimp, chicken breast, cod, steak - this bowl will work with it allllllll.
besides, this salad (specifically the dressing) if where it’s really at. it’s bright, gingery, salty, toasty, just addicting.
